1) What is the meaning of "permissibility of wage types" in SAP. What is the function of it?
The permissibility of wage types as the word suggest the meaning it is nothing but whether a particular wage type XXXX is allowed in an infotype 0008,0014,0015 etc.
For E.g Basic pay wage type will be in 0008 infotype as it will be base of the employee salary . Think whether can you assign this basic pay wage type in 0015 literally its not possible as this is a additional payment for a particular month.So this is a simple example which you would understand there is permissible wage type for each infotype.
2) why do we default the value of it based on country Group, Personal area, EE group, EE sub-group
Actually there are two tables V_503_G - Employee grouping for primary wage type and V_001P_K - Personnel subarea grouping for primary wage type.
This is been used for restricting a wage type to a particular group and personnel area. Think of a multiple country implementation where the wage type for one country may not be used for some other or even in a other case a wage type applicable applicable for particular group of employees are not allowed for others.
After grouping based upon employee group/subgroup and Personnel area & Subarea then you will define permissibility in V_511_B.
