Use BPCDataGrid

I have a question,

I am working in Dashboards 4.0 and BPC 10 with the EPM Connector, when I begin to build the layout of the dashboards, my question :

Is mandatory to use the BPC Data Grid component??... Can I use any component without to use the BPCDataGrid?
